По какво се различават методът на собствения потенциал и ВЕС изследването за търсене и откриване на вода

Методът на собственият потенциал (SP метод) и методът VES (вертикално електрическо сондиране) са геофизични техники, използвани за изследване на геоложките особености в даден район. Въпреки че са различни методи, те често се използват заедно в проекти за геофизични проучвания, за да предоставят допълнителна информация за строежа на плитките или по-дълбоки слоеве. SP методът  измерва електрическите потенциални разлики (напрежения), които съществуват в земната повърхност, които могат да бъдат генерирани от естествени електрически токове, протичащи през земята, или от електрохимични реакции между минерали и течности в подземната повърхност. Тези потенциални разлики могат да бъдат измерени на повърхността с помощта на специализирани инструменти. Методът VES, от друга страна, включва преминаване на електрически ток през земята подаван с помощта на два или повече електрода и измерване на получените потенциални разлики на различни дълбочини.
